Simrin Mehra Agarwal has studied in a French school La Martiniere Kolkata from 1983-1998, her association with France and its people has been considerable since then. Nine years later, she was awarded the French Government Scholarship and Indo-French Artist–in–Residence Programme by the French Embassy in India in the field of Painting. Her works have found their way to acclamation within a very short time.

She works, watching, examining, exploring, searching, meticulously scrutinizing and de-constructing every detail, looking deep into various layers for hidden meaning. She is interested in the Archaeology of the images and the process of deciphering them in relation to, space, time, context and the self. Travelling and exploring new places not only adds interesting elements to her work but also helps to make it more diverse. Through both imagination and intellect, she makes new discoveries and innovations bringing together a new unique vision.”
