Dipankar Dasgupta has done B.F.A., Kala Bhavan, Shantiniketan, West Bengal;  M.F.A. from M.S. University, Baroda.  Former lecturer in the Faculty of Visual Arts, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. National Scholarship awardee, Ministry of Human Resources, Govt. of India, 1966-68, under the guidance of the late painter Shyamal Dutta Ray. Solo exhibitions at Hotel Welcome, Baroda (1995); and Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Kolkata (1997). Group shows across India with Galerie 88(1998, 1999), Chitrakoot Art Gallery (1998), Birla Academy,  Kolkata (1998, 2000), Sanskriti Art Gallery, New Delhi (1998), Young Bengal, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai (1999 and 2002), Oberoi Grand, Kolkata (1999), Taj Krishna, Hyderabad (1999),  Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi (2000), and Right Lines Gallery, Bangalore (2001).
