Born on 25th February, 1966, Arzan is a qualified Architect from Rachna Sansad’s Academy of Architecture, India. Coming from an architectural background, his father being a noted architect; having a well established office since 1954, Architecture was the logical profession to pursue. After graduating in 1991, Arzan began practicing full time at the office with his father. However sculpting gradually replaced his profession. He was happiest in the work shop.

Arzan Khambata came into the limelight with his exhibition, SCRAPTURES, where he created out of pieces of metal scrap collected from the bylanes and scrap yards of Mumbai, Arzan now also works with fresh sheets of metal.

The result of his filing, bending, moulding, cutting, welding and burning is a collection of work that is dramatic in its impact; rivers of lava surging through charred valleys, flaming planets spiralling dizzily through space…. Arzan often uses the play of light and shadow to heighten the different moods of his work.

A popular artiste at exhibition and art shows, this professional architect’s work is visible at many a traffic junction as well as special commission projects at various corporate locales.
